| Spiritual Life at JP Catholic
A rich sacramental and prayer life must be core to the student's daily life at JP Catholic, with the Eucharist being at the very core.
Other time-honored traditional liturgical celebrations contribute to Catholic life on campus,
such as Eucharistic Adoration, the Rosary and the Divine Mercy chaplet.
On-campus Mass (when classes are in session)
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday: 11am
See our Academic Calendar
Daily Mass is also available at 8:30 am and 5:30 pm at our parish church -
Good Shepherd Catholic Church,
Mira Mesa. 8 weekend Masses are available in English, Spanish and Vietnamese.
On-campus Confessions (when classes are in session) Wednesday: 11:45am Thursday 11:30am Other Days: As posted on campus
Saturday (Good Shepherd parish): 3 - 4pm and other times by appointment.
Confessions are held during Adoration as part of the monthly 'On-Mission' event.
Daily Prayer and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament as well as private devotions are available in the campus chapel
and at the parish church. Rosary is said every night at the residence apartments.
Spiritual direction is offered by the Chaplain. Though all religious activity is voluntary, the level of participation by
the students is a true measure of the spiritual mission of JP Catholic. As students grow in faith, their enthusiasm for the word of God
and the Eucharist will grow too.
Non-Catholic students are most welcomed to discover the truth of Jesus Christ.
Chaplain: Fr Richard Huston is a priest from the Diocese of San Diego, and serves JP Catholic University at the request of Bishop Robert Brom.
He is a senior priest at Good Shepherd Parish - JP Catholic's parish.
Fr Huston is a holy priest, who is not afraid to faithfully proclaim the teachings of Jesus Christ, and JP Catholic is truly blessed to have him.
Fr Huston was ordained at age 69 after his wife of 43 years died. His family includes 8 great-grand children.
