New Concentrations in Acting and Business of Fashion

The University will begin offering new areas of emphasis within our undergraduate degree programs this Fall. An emphasis in 'Acting for Stage and Screen' is now available within our BS in Communication Media. Read more. University Moving to Escondido

The University will relocate its Scripps Ranch campus to historic downtown Escondido this Summer. The University has purchase the former Mingei Museum at 155 W. Grand Ave and has leased 22 apartments in the new downtown Latitude 33 apartment complex. It will lease and/or purchase a number of other commercial properties in the downtown. The Escondido City Council approved a conditional use permit on 5/1/13, which allows the University to operate. Read more ..

Freshman Olivia Nelson addressed Rally supporting Marriage

Freshman Olivia Nelson addressed a rally in front of the federal courthouse in San Diego Tuesday morning in defense of Proposition 8. She said 'Marriage is the place where children are brought into the world. It is so sacred to me.' See a video clip

Students Attend Palm Sunday Mass celebrated by Pope Francis

13 students, along with Theology professor Christine Wood, were in attendance as Pope Francis celebrated his first Palm Sunday Mass in St. Peter's Square. The students were taking part in the University's Europe trip, where they spent a week in Ireland before heading to Paris for 4 days and from there onto Rome for a week.

University advances to final site review prior to initial accreditation goal

WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) - the regional agency, which accredits colleges and universities in California has notified JP Catholic that its next site review visit will be in Fall 2014. A successful visit would enable the University achieve its initial accreditation goal in March 2015. Read more details.

Prof Scoggins Crash the Super Bowl video a WINNER again!

Prof Nathan Scoggins was a member of the team which produced Fashionista Daddy - a winner in this year's Doritos Crash the Super Bowl competition. Gabe Geagea, a senior and alumni Lucy Bruckner, Julia Swain and Maggie Mahrt were involved in the production. View Prof Scoggins' CNN interview about both winning videos.
