Why did you choose JP Catholic?

JP Catholic appealed to me in so many ways, as I was home schooled and appreciated the small classes and one-on-one environment. As a Catholic I loved the deep spirituality that was evident in each student and in the mission of the school to reach people and bring them closer to Christ. I had always hoped to be able to help people renew themselves in the Church, not by force, but by example. I believe that though JP Catholic we can truly learn to create influential media and learn to be ethical businessmen and women.

Why did you choose your major?

I grew up in an entrepreneurial family. During my childhood, I helped my parents build, run, and then sadly close their business, and the experience really gave me a foothold into the business world. When I came here I thought that the business and media majors would be almost entirely separate, but I have learned that in order to be successful we really need each other. The more I have learned about project management, I have been able apply those skills to produce a few of the media students’ film projects. The media is also such an important tool for a businesswoman to be able to understand and employ. Producing films has opened my eyes to the media industry, and I’m excited to get into the business of entertainment.

What are your favorite campus activities?

I would have to say that some of my favorite activities would be the simple ones, such as throwing birthday parties in the common room for each person's birthday or being able to have a "feast" for feast days. For larger activities I would have to say that I love the swing dances.

Who is your favorite professor?

My favorite professor? Wow, the professors here at JP Catholic are such high caliber people who believe deeply in what they do that it’s difficult to choose. Their enthusiasm is contagious! It would be really hard for me to pin down just one teacher, but if I have to I would say Dr. Jerry Jackson is my favorite. He's accomplished and well rounded and keeps the lectures real and alive by bringing in stories from his career.
