We are pleased that you are considering JP Catholic University for your son or daughter!

JP Catholic offers to parents the opportunity to send their son or daughter to a university that heeds the call of the late Pope John Paul II to devote its best efforts to a more compelling proclamation of the Gospel, the growth of holiness, and the more effective transmission of the treasure of the faith. JP Catholic places a strong emphasis on Catholic values and morals, and is on the frontier of practical and applied learning in the creative and business facets of communications media and technology. JP Catholic strongly encourages students to attend daily Mass and adoration. JP Catholic is very proud of our academic standards. Parents and prospective students are always welcome to sit on any JP Catholic classes.

Parents - Frequently Asked Questions

What do you mean when you say JP Catholic is 'faithfully Catholic'?
We mean that JP Catholic, in ALL of its activities both inside the classroom and outside, is informed by and obedient to the authentic teaching of the Catholic Church without exception.

What are the characteristics of the ideal JP Catholic student?
Students, ideally, should have:

  • A strong desire to live in an orthodox Catholic environment that is both faithful and fun-filled. We want our graduates to be passionate evangelists for the faith. Lukewarm is not good enough.
  • An eagerness to be part of a successful business. JP Catholic faculty guides the student to discover their strengths and potential within the business world as creators and innovators, leaders and entrepreneurs.
  • A passion to change the world. JP Catholic seeks to tackle huge moral problems in society and the acute shortage of vocal orthodox Catholic leaders. JP Catholic faculty guide and encourage students to seek solutions to societal problems within the framework of the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Does JP Catholic admit homeschoolers? What are the requirements regarding tests, diplomas etc?
JP Catholic is very attractive to homeschoolers and about 25% of our student body has been home-schooled. Our admissions does require acceptable documentation of your students' high school learning outcomes.

I am intrigued by the JP Catholic concept, but I am concerned about our son being in a new college.
We understand your concern - it is the concern of many parents. So far, close to 60 parents have chosen to send their sons or daughters to JP Catholic. Our student retention statistics are very high and compare favorable with well established colleges and universities. As with technology adoption, there are the early adaptors - those who are out in front and will send their kids to JP Catholic, despite the obvious newness. You can be sure that the faculty, staff and administration will be very committed to delivering a superb education in these formative years - JP Catholic's future will depend on it. Pray hard and let the Holy Spirit guide you.

My daughter likes creative writing, but I don't see her as a leader - is JP Catholic right for her?
At JP Catholic, we focus on building creators and innovators, leaders and entrepreneurs. This sets high expectations of the incoming students from their first day on campus. We want all our graduates to make a significant difference in society once they leave JP Catholic. If your daughter just wants to write, her classes at JP Catholic will make her a top-notch creative writer - but her formation will be shaped by the demands of bringing new creative media products to market. Students will certainly understand market demands. Your daughter will have the opportunity to become part of a team that she will choose and will be a critical creative contributor on that team. That might not have appeal looking forward to a teenager, but it has much appeal to the young adult ready to graduate. Let us know if we can help in your conversations with her.

Will my son or daughter need to bring a computer with them to JP Catholic?
Yes. The JP Catholic campus classrooms, dorms and common areas are wireless “hot spots”. The new student will need to bring their own laptop computer. Read more ....
