Admission Requirements

As a potential student seeking to attend JP Catholic University, you must be a high school graduate or hold a General Educational Development (GED) Certificate.

Your high school grades are an important factor in our admission decisions. Your high school GPA is calculated using your grades in all your classes completed after the 9th through 12th grades.

JP Catholic requires a minimum GPA of 2.4 for admission.

Your SAT or ACT test scores are required with your application. This requirement can be waived if the student has over 25 credits of college work or has over a 3.0 High School GPA, but all applicants are strongly recommended to take one or the other test. You may take either the SAT or ACT - talk with your high school counselor to determine which test would be a better measure of your strengths. If one test does not accurately indicate your abilities, then you should consider taking the other test instead of repeating the first test to improve your score.

ACT covers four skill areas: English, mathematics, reading, and science. The sum of the scores for the English, math, reading, and science scores is the sum score for ACT that we use. ACT also offers an optional Writing Test, which score we do not require for admission purposes. Your composite ACT score should range from 22 to 36. Visit www.act.org for more information about the ACT, to register for the test, and to send scores.

JP Catholic ACT number is: 0343

SAT is a standardized test for college admissions in the United States. SAT consists of three sections: Critical Thinking, Math, and Writing. Scores from Critical Thinking and Math are added and used for our admission. Scores from the Writing section are not used for admission purposes. Your SAT critical reading score should range from 540 to 800 and your math score from 510 to 800; Visit www.collegeboard.com to learn more about the SAT test and to register online to take the SAT test.

JP Catholic SAT number is: 4576
