Why did you choose JP Catholic? I seriously didn’t think I would choose JP Catholic until application season senior year. I was looking into many film/art schools like Cal Arts, Academy of the Arts, UCLA, USC, or Chapman. What drew me away from choosing one of these schools was the lack of spiritual development the schools offered. I was afraid I would lose my faith or at least soften myself up to secularism at a secular school, especially an art school. It was then that I remembered about a letter my mom got in the mail for some mysterious reason about JP Catholic. She showed me 6 months earlier but I thought it was one of those “dumb” things my mom always wanted to show me. I looked at the letter and one day decided to call. From then I met Martin and we got to talking about my education. I later visited the school and fell in love. That’s basically the story. Why did you choose your major? I love media. I’m not a business man. Communications Media was the only logical choice for someone like me. Since it doesn’t specialize in a specific field in filmmaking, it would give me some time to discern what position I wanted to explore. What are your favorite campus activities? I like hanging out in the common rooms. I watch lots of movies in the Perch, the loud common room, and do homework at St. Jude, the quiet one. We have many birthday parties, dinners, prayer meetings, and study groups. Also, we have fun and go crazy every once in a while. The hand s down best thing about the common rooms is all the free food. Since I’m broke 85% of my time here, any free meal I can get is appreciated. Who is your favorite professor? There are many great professors at JP Catholic that are worth mentioning such as Nathan Scoggins, Chris Riley, Michael Barber, and Martin Harold. But my favorite would have to be Jerry Jackson. He’s basically a top athlete in his 60’s who loves extreme sports and happens to know everything about business. He’s amazing. Don’t believe me, come by for a visit. You’ll be pleasantly blown away. Nobody else can make business classes more entertaining then JJ. |
