HOW DO I APPLY FOR JP CATHOLIC SCHOLARSHIPS AND GRANTS?
Financial aid is assistance that helps pay the difference between your family's determined ability to pay and what it will actually cost for
you to go to college. Financial aid at JP Catholic is viewed as supplementary to your family's financial ability and commitment.
Financial aid at JP Catholic is awarded to students on the basis of financial need and merit.
JP Catholic will provide some form of financial assistance to approximately 60% of the student body.
- First apply for admission by completing the JP Catholic application form.
- Once you have been accepted by JP Catholic you may apply for
financial aid. You may apply for
- Institutional Scholarships (based primarily on merit),
- Institutional Grants (based primarily on financial need), and
- Work-Study (based on your skills and our part-time work needs)
- Institutional Scholarships (based primarily on merit),
- Mail a copy of your completed Financial Aid Application
Form(PDF) to JP Catholic. We will use the data in determining your financial need.
- If you are offered financial aid by JP Catholic University, we reserve the right to request that a signed copy of your parents' latest federal tax return, along with all schedules and attachments, be provided to the Financial Aid Office. Your financial aid award must be considered tentative until we receive the tax return copy and any other required forms.
HOW IS FINANCIAL NEED DETERMINED?
The information detailed on your completed Financial Aid Application
Form about your family income, family size, assets, and
family members in college is used to determine the amount your family can provide toward the cost of your education.
It allows for necessary family expenditures such as taxes, reasonable living costs, educational savings for siblings, and
unusual medical expenses. It protects a portion of the family's assets as allowances for emergencies and educational savings.
Part of the remaining income and assets is assumed to be
available for current college expenses. In addition, each student is expected to provide up to $2,000 for books and personal expenses.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR FINANCIAL AID?
Any student whose family is unable to meet the costs of a JP Catholic education is encouraged to apply for financial aid.
All regularly admitted students with demonstrated financial need are eligible for financial aid.
HOW LIKELY AM I TO RECEIVE AID?
Private university education is expensive - if you have a clearly demonstrated need and apply early, you will get financial aid.
