JP Catholic’s on-campus Media LaunchPad serves as the critical support structure and process for turning student's creative ideas into real films - feature lenght or shorts. The LaunchPad helps student teams achieve their goals. It provides experienced mentoring, collaboration, funding strategies and introductions, external resources and low-cost infrastructure including office space, conference facilities, and more. Student teams that participate in the proven mentoring and coaching process used in the LaunchPad are much more likely to succeed compared to the average team without mentoring. PRODUCE A FEATURE FILM

JP Catholic’s MBA in Producing students take on the ambitious task of funding and producing a feature film. Undergraduate students will work on the teams with the MBA class in every step of the production process from developing a treatment and script, to hiring a director and production staff, to marketing and negotiating the distribution deal. Students will draw on our industry-experienced faculty and connections, state of the art equipment and sound stage, and our talented undergraduate film students. Recently, MBA producing students secured $60,000 in funding to develop a courtroom thriller.

It’s an oft-quoted Hollywood saying: Success isn’t what you know, it’s who you know. At JP Catholic, you’ll have the opportunity to create a powerful network of collaborators, mentors, and investors. JP Catholic’s curriculum unites theory with practice, so you’ll not only know how to approach investors, you’ll actually approach them. Producing classes involve attending International Institute of Film Finance events and the Wedgwood Investor Circle forums. You will do extensive networking within Hollywood to find the right talent for your advanced production project. JP Catholic faculty provide the introductions you need to get started in Hollywood.
