Business LaunchPad

The on-campus LaunchPad bring together, using real world projects, all the students have learned around the creating, leading and managing of organizations. It is here that students undertake a significant business project or explore taking a new idea from concept through to eventual launch.

The LaunchPad provides a safe environment that nurtures and mentors student to consider the major issues around creating, leading or managing for-profit companies and non-profit organizations spanning from entertainment media companies to Catholic apostolates.

Freshmen begin by learning about how entrepreneurs bring their big business ideas to life. Juniors and seniors explore, seek to understand and even develop complex businesses.

The LaunchPad serves as a place where a student can advance a significant business project that may be part of an internship, or provide a bridge for a student's idea to possibly becoming a sustainable business. The LaunchPad helps start-up companies and apostolates to grow, achieve their goals, and expedite their maturation by providing critical services. These services include experienced mentoring, collaboration, funding strategies and introductions, external resources and low-cost infrastructure including office space, conference facilities, and more. Mentoring and coaching can significantly increase the likelihood of success.

JP Catholic University encourages business leaders, locally and nationally to volunteer as mentors for student business teams. Mentors provide critical and timely technical and strategic leadership guidance, input on appropriate business models and strategies, as well as introducing students to various sources of funding, potential partners, distribution and sales channels.
