| Student Affairs
The Office of the Dean of Students is responsible for the student services that seek to enhance overall quality of student life at JP Catholic. The office provides coordination and direction to student services and works to ensure that programs, services, policies, and procedures foster the development of students and the achievement of their academic and career goals. The staff of the Dean of Students office provides help, advice, counseling, and referral for students and parents in many areas including commuter, transfer, and residential matters. The deans’ offices develops and coordinates activities such as New Student Orientation, Welcome Week, commencement; leadership and co-curricular learning opportunities; decisions about remaining in or withdrawing from school; disciplinary matters; involvement in student governments; community service and volunteer opportunities; the planning of social, educational and cultural activities; assisting students with disabilities; and assisting in grievance hearing procedures.
Student Life Office
Student life at JP Catholic is a critical component of the learning experience and of the human development process. JP Catholic seeks to form the student in soul, mind, and body. The spiritual, cultural and athletic programs that take place within the campus setting, but also outside of the classroom are crucial in the student’s robust development into being future innovators and creators, leaders and entrepreneurs. The student life team is headed up by the Director of Student Life and a team of student Resident Associates (RA’s).
Housing
Students live in a supervised residential community experience. Rooms are furnished and provide ample space for effective studying, sleeping, and storing of personal belongings, books, and clothes. The Business Office administers all details related to housing contracts.
Student Health Service
Student Health issues are addresses by the Dean of Students office. They take care of minor ailments, as well as health education programs. Students requiring more pressing medical or surgical care are referred to local practitioners, hospitals, or clinics as appropriate and students should be prepared to assume the cost of such care. All students must have mandatory major medical health insurance as a nonacademic condition of enrollment.
Psychological and Counseling referrals are made proactively by the Dean of Students office to meet the wide array of personal difficulties that may interfere with the student’s academic success. Specific concerns for which students often seek assistance include loneliness and isolation, homesickness, parent/family conflict, difficulty studying, concentrating or test taking, challenges in interpersonal relations and communication, educational/career concerns, mental issues, depression, and anxiety.
Office of the Registrar
The Office of the Registrar is responsible for the registration and maintenance of student records. It provides students with authoritative interpretation of JP Catholic policies and procedures regarding registration, posting of degrees, grade reporting and maintenance and other matters related to student records and registration. Sets goals, organizes, and directs the unit, the registration process, academic record processing, and maintenance of records.
Business Office
The Business Office is responsible for all student billing and financial issues.
Computing and Library Resources
Computing Services JP Catholic computing services include: support of instructional computing; management of the main academic computer infrastructure and administration of site agreements for the licensing and distribution of software.
They maintain the computing platform deployed on campus, and the students wireless network. They maintain common software platform including common word processing, spreadsheet and web site design applications; compilers and program development tools; special purpose packages for electronic design, engineering simulation, animation, statistics, finance and symbolic mathematics, students e-mail accounts and wireless network communications support, students account maintenance.
Library JP Catholic library serves as a center for study, reading, and scholarship. Its collections and services are an auxiliary resource supporting instructional programs, as well as project research. Checkout is on the honor system.
In addition, students have access to local public and university libraries. Miramar Community College library is 200 yards from the residential facility and a major bookstore (Barnes and Nobles) is 50 yards from the facility.

Barnes & Nobles, open daily 9am to 11 pm offers students the convenience of a book superstore, with vast inventory of books, music, DVD and magazines with a comfortable library-like ambiance. It offers students a great place to research and study.
Academic Advising
Academic advising is provided by faculty and offers official academic advice and direction to students. Faculty will assist students develop educational plans, compatible with their interests, academic preparation, educational and career goals.
Faculty advisers provide general academic and curricular information, clarify academic rules and regulations, review all aspects of academic probation, monitor academic progress, assist students with decision-making strategies, and provide information about the different majors.
Career Counseling
The career counseling service helps students (and alumni) with career-related concerns. Faculty advisers meet one-on-one with students (as needed) to guide them through the phases of their career development. Self-assessment tools, panel presentations, occupational resources, and networking programs are available to help students explore career options and determine career goals. Faculty can help students to gain relevant work experience through internships. Faculty also help students with job search, resume and curriculum vitae critiques, and practice interview workshops.
Recreation Services
Students have quality recreation programs available. They are designed to meet leisure-time needs and interests through on-campus clubs, intramural sports, recreation classes, outings, and a myriad of activities and special event programming. The goal is to provide opportunities that promote a lifetime of health-conscious choices.
The Intramural Sports Program at JP Catholic is a balanced blend of team and individual sports activities that are designed to meet the diverse needs of the campus community, and match student interests.
The Student Common Rooms provides a casual atmosphere to gather, relax and socialize.
