| Financial Aid
JP Catholic, recognizing the financial burden placed on families by the cost of university education, has as a policy to provide all legally possible financial assistance and aid to its entire student body. As a non-profit institution, JP Catholic is actively involved with raising scholarship funds for students in need.
The Business Office administers all financial assistance for students. Applications and requests for information should be addressed to the Business Office, JP Catholic University; 10174 Old Grove Road, Suite 200, San Diego, CA 92131.
No student should dismiss applying to JP Catholic because of financial need reasons before exploring all possible avenues of assistance with an Admissions or Business Office counselor. All information contained herein is intended to serve as a general guide and is subject to change due to new and revised federal, state, and JP Catholic regulations and procedures.
Application for Financial Aid: All admitted students are eligible for institutional financial aid. Since John Paul the Great Catholic University does not yet have agreements with state and federal financial aid agencies since we do not have regional accreditation. JP Catholic will begin this process once it enters candidacy for regional accreditation.
Students must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress as a condition for maintaining eligibility for instructional financial aid. For JP Catholic financial aid recipients the standards are forty-eight units per year (twelve units per quarter) for full-time enrollment, and an overall grade-point average of 3.0 during the academic year. For evaluation of financial need, all applicants must submit a copy of the JP Catholic Financial Aid Application Form, which is available on the web. Late applicants will be considered for limited aid.
Short-Term Emergency Loans: The limited emergency loan funds, administered by the Business Office, are loaned in small amounts to help students in critical short-term emergencies, and usually must be repaid within thirty days. There currently is a service charge of $20 per emergency loan, and students must be enrolled in at least twelve units. Registration fees must be paid prior to applying. Applications and further information will be available from the Business Office.
