Liberal Arts

The traditional liberal arts are those defined as the Trivium (Grammar, Rhetoric and Logic) and the Quadrivium (Arithmetic, Geometry, Music and Astronomy). For centuries these were the recognized foundation for higher education. Unfortunately most high school and college liberal arts programs no longer focus on building this foundation. The JP Catholic core begins with this understanding.

For centuries a foundation in philosophy was considered essential for the development of the whole person and preperation for advanced studies. The philosophy core at JP Catholic provides the framework for understanding the world and preparation for advanced studies in their major and in theology.

Theology

Any authentically Catholic education must culminate in the study of theology. The theology program at JP Catholic not only informs students academically but strives to help each student build a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Michael Barber hosts a weekly radio show on EWTN and is currently completing a Ph.D. in Theology at Fuller in Pasadena, CA. He has an M. A. in Theology from Franciscan University and received his B. A. in Theology and Philosophy from Azusa Pacific University.'
