3. Bishop Brom celebrated the first Mass in JP Catholic's chapel, Friday Sept 8th, 2006
Bishop Robert Brom celebrated the first Mass in JP Catholic's chapel on Friday Sept 8th.
The first Mass was concelebrated by Fr Anthony Saroki - a member of the JP Catholic Board of Trustees, and Fr Richard Huston
- JP Catholic's chaplain. In attendance were several incoming freshmen, trustees, staff and friends.
Bishop Brom's core message was that JP Catholic must educate for Christ's mission and that mission is NOT about 'me' (personal career, money,
prestige). He recalled a meeting on this day in 1988 with Pope John Paul II and the poignant message of the meeting was that Jesus must be central
to all we do in carrying out our spiritual mission.
4. JP Catholic's Freshman Class
Our freshman class, made up of 30+ students from all over the US, will study towards Bachelor of Science degrees in Communications Media
(with an emphasis on Entertainment Media) and Business (with an emphasis on Entrepreneurial Business).
Freshmen Orientation, which will include a trip to the world-famous San Diego Zoo,
a Padres game and a beach BBQ, will end with a student retreat led by Fr Richard Huston,
JP Catholic's chaplain. Classes begin on Thursday, September 21st.

Cash. Our most critical need is for unrestricted cash. To-date JP Catholic has received gifts ranging from $1 to over $100,000
from approximately 300 benefactors across the US. The funds are being used to build our initial infrastructure and to create a reserve to
assure near-term fiscal stability.
Equipment and In Kind Gifts enhance the
educational experience of all students. Donations can include all types of equipment that
is commonly used on a college campus, particularly: computers; laboratory and film production equipment;
software; classroom, dorm and recreation furniture and fittings; office supplies; vehicles, etc.
Give to the most high as He has given to you, generously, according to your means.
For the LORD is one who always repays, and he will give back to you sevenfold.
Sirach 35:9-10.
