With the completion of a state-of –the-art, digital media editing facility, JP Catholic media students are fast on their way to mastering the skills of
digital post-production. This new lab is outfitted with 11 Apple Mac Pro workstations, which will enable the students to unleash their creative output with
editing, motion graphics, audio editing and mixing, DVD creation and color grading tools. They are even learning the advanced techniques of trimming media via
the slip, slide, ripple and roll commands.
This post-production facility compliments the recently acquired collection of digital video cameras, tripods, lights and microphones. JP Catholic students
now have a complete production environment to take their creative ideas from concept to final completion.

In April 2007, I finally found my place in life: I experienced the joy and greatness of becoming a Catholic. While I was baptized Catholic as a child,
it was not until high school I began contemplating God and religion and where I stood in all of it. Upon graduating, I decided to begin attending Mass at
least once or twice a month, which eventually resulted in me going every Sunday. Before that, however, I never pictured myself attending a church of my own
free will or even making it a part of my life. A year and a half ago, that all changed and I eventually found a place that I could call home away from home.
About a month after becoming Catholic, I found a school in San Diego called John Paul the Great Catholic University.
I had been in search of a college that would not only live up to my artistic needs but to my faith life as well. I was planning on attending a
liberal arts college like Steubenville or Thomas Aquinas College, even though they did not have a major appropriate to my interest in computer animation.
Through a friend from my home in Fallbrook, however, I discovered JP Catholic when she mentioned one of its professors, Michael Barber. After getting in
contact with him, I was referred to the school’s website and planned a visit a few weeks later.
After that, I only had about a month or so to decide if I felt JP Catholic was the right school for me or not. As an answer to my prayers, it was.
Before coming to JP Catholic, I was never able to call another place “home” apart from my real home. During my time here, I have made great friends, the
administration has assisted me in my education and financial needs, and I have learned so much about my faith that there is no place else I would rather be
than at JP Catholic. I feel so at peace when I am here. To know that I have a place that accepts who I am and loves Jesus Christ as I do leaves joy in my heart.
God has a plan for me, along with JP Catholic and its students, and with time and patience, God’s plan will completely unfold and Pope John Paul II’s vision
for the youth will come into fruition. JP Catholic is a wonderful
Catholic university and I am proud to be one of the first students to play a part in a new school that is fun, educational, faithful, and innovative.
In Rochester, New Hampshire, several children are lacing up their running shoes, getting ready to bolt out their front door. They’re heading to the St.
Charles Children’s Home 5-K, a fundraiser for their home. Getting ready to do the same are two nuns clad in blue and white habits who live with and care for the
children. Their order, the Daughters of Mary, Mother of Healing Love, runs the home for children who are waiting for adoption or to be reunited with their
parents. Many have come from a variety of crisis situations, and the Sisters found that running helps the children deal with behavioral issues and excel at
other sports, which helps them in school.
3,000 miles away, Sr. Mary Agnes Dombroski, wearing the same blue and white habit, is studying Entrepreneurial Business at JP Catholic. She plans to use
her education to help her order run as efficiently as possible. Since 2003, Sr. Mary Agnes has been the coordinator of the St. Charles Children’s Home 5-K.
The Sisters and the children started entering races for fun and eventually a local insurance company offered to host a race as a fundraiser for the home.

“Chip In” is a secure way to pledge toward our goal of $25,000 in scholarships for deserving JP Catholic students.
The idea is to get as many people involved as possible, so pledge a small amount (even just a dollar is fine),
and then pass the word along to others. Chip In tracks both the amount of pledges and the number of people who pledge. Chip In uses PayPal, so you know it’s
secure. It’s just here temporarily though, so please make your pledge before March 29th.
