1. JP Catholic moves into its first facility.

On Feb 1, 2006 JP Catholic took possession of its first facility. It is located at 10174 Old Grove Road in the Scripps Ranch area of San Diego. It will house classroom and administrative operations for the new university while it plans and builds a permanent campus. The facility includes a chapel, classroom, library, break room, a conference room, 9 offices, and a reception area. In the Fall of 2007, JP Catholic will expand to include 3 classrooms and a film studio/lab. The current space is 4,400 sq feet. The facility is centrally located; is within walking distance of Alliant University and Miramar College; is well served by public transportation; and is very close to a number of large and small public parks and major shopping.

The address is: John Paul the Great Catholic University, 10174 Old Grove Road, Suite 200, San Diego, CA 92131

Please visit us and bring your friends - we want to show-off our new home!

2. JP Catholic to use up-scale apartments for dorms

JP Catholic will be using up-scale apartments in Mira Mesa as student dorms for the first few years of operation while it plans and builds a permanent campus. The upscale Legacy apartments are a little over a mile from the classroom facility and are connected by a public bus route. There are two bus routes connecting it to the local church. The apartment facility includes a 20-seat media center, two large swimming pools, a work-out room, a volleyball pit, and barbeque area. It is very close to stores and entertainment.

3. Andy Marchi joins JP Catholic to lead Student Recruitment

Andy Marchi has joined JP Catholic as Director of Student Recruitment. In addition to his role at JP Catholic, Andy continues to work part-time as Youth Minister at St Gregory the Great Parish in Scripps Ranch. He was previously a Director of Campus Ministry at St Augustine's High School in San Diego. Andy grew up in Sacramento and attended Jesuit High school. This summer, he will marry his fiance Nicole.

Letters of acceptance will be mailed this week to the first batch of JP Catholic applicants. Inquires and application activity is on an upswing.

4. JP Catholic web-site gets a face lift.
The JP Catholic has a new look and a more student-centric focus thanks to Karl Friedl, co-founder of Cynosure New Media, Inc., a San Diego-based full service training development and multimedia production company on the web at http://www.cynosurenewmedia.com. Take and look and let us know what you think.
