1. JP Catholic University Student Recruitment in Full Swing
Students have begun to apply for admission to the class of 2010, the inaugural class of JP Catholic University. Recruitment began in November, after, JP Catholic received 'Approval to Operate a Degree Granting Institution from the State of California on October 25, 2005.

Frequently Asked Questions for potential students and their parents:

  • How many students will be admitted in Fall 2006? The first class will have 60 freshman students.
  • Is Financial Aid available? Yes. It is based on merit, need and availability. Apply early, as the best scholarships will be given out first.
  • Where will students live? We are negotiating the sublease of dorms on a San Diego college campus offering students on-campus living. Including access to the cafeteria, extensive sports facilities, library, student lounges, swimming pools, laundry facilities, etc.. There will be a Chapel in the classroom and administrative office facility.
  • How many degree programs are offered in the first year? Two - Communications Media (emphasis in Entertainment Media) and Business (emphasis in Innovation Management).
  • What is Entertainment Media? Entertainment Media will cover the creative, technical and business aspect of media from film and TV to computer animation and gaming.
  • What is Innovation Management? Our Business degree focuses on teaching the student the skills of building and running businesses that depend on innovation, that is, new products or just new ways doing business.
  • Will JP Catholic faculty be top-class? Yes, we believe you will be impressed with our faculty. Most will have PhD’s and significant entrepreneurial experience in Communications Media and/or Business. No teaching assistants will lecture at JP Catholic!
  • What is the top reason to apply? You want to answer the call of John Paul II to a new evangelization by changing the world using media and business. You want to be a pioneer and lead the way for students who will follow you as you begin the first class of JP Catholic!
