The University's governance is directed by the Board of Trustees. The Board appoints the President of the University, who is the single administrative officer responsible to the Board.

The JP Catholic Trustees involved in the day-to-day administration of the university are:

1. President - Dr Derry Connolly
2. Chair, Audit Committee - Alan Lane
3. Provost - Dominic Iocco

The President provides overall leadership to the university in academic affairs; the CFO reports to the President and to the Chair of the Trustee Audit Committee, and provides overall leadership to the university in budget development and control, business and finance, and policy development. The Provost is the Chief Academic Officer.

The University will create a University Senate that will be an academic policymaking body of faculty, students, administrators and staff.
